To help us gain a deeper understanding of Wes’ Executive Coaching experience, we asked him a series of questions.
Here are his responses…
What made this coaching experience with Bloombase unique?
What makes your coaching approach unique is that you truly understand my business. You take the time to grasp the strategy, pressures, and gaps. You see things through my lens as much as possible—not to advise, but to relate.
What did the coaching experience mean to you in terms of your journey as a leader?
Coaching created a crucial space for me to think beyond the day-to-day demands of my role. The more complexities you face as a leader, the more mental space you need to focus on your most impactful priorities. Coaching has given me that space to lead with greater clarity and intention.
What is the greatest ROI for this investment you made in yourself?
The greatest ROI from coaching with Sheri was how it helped me fully embrace my most authentic leadership—allowing me to show up consistently as myself in every space I led. It provided my team with stability and enabled me to maximize my leadership style, ensuring I approached every challenge at the Gigafactory with intention.
How has your coaching experience impacted your approach to leadership?
Throughout my career, Executive Coaches have played a pivotal role in expanding my perspective, further fueling my passion for diverse viewpoints. Creating a safe space where leaders are both challenged and supported accelerates their development—if they fully commit to the process.
How would you describe your coaching experience? What was the dynamic between you and your coach, and what did your sessions look like?
Sheri is as real as it gets—no BS, no fancy jargon. She’s a straight shooter who challenges the heck out of me, yet she’s also the first to say, 'Hey, wait a minute—doesn’t that feel worthy of celebrating?' She is laser-focused on maximizing my potential, and her energy is contagious—even when the work is hard, especially then.
In what ways did your coaching experience contribute to your personal growth, both professionally and personally?
The Whole Leader approach at Bloombase has truly expanded what’s possible for me in every space I lead. When I stepped into the Executive Vice President role, I initially believed I wouldn’t be able to continue coaching my son’s soccer team—that was a limiting belief. But once I explored how it could serve me as a leader, I chose to keep doing it, and it has become an important space for learning and fueling my leadership.
What would you say to someone considering executive coaching? Why might it be worth pursing?
If you are considering Executive Coaching and feel hesitant, I encourage you to lean into that fear and commit to the process for yourself. All high performers need fuel, and that is what I consider Executive Coaching to be—fuel that accelerates leadership
